AV Smith Photography was formed when two photographers, Alison Valentinas and Vincent Smith, met while
working for the Chicago Public Schools then later married. Alison and Vince's friendship developed
during long conversations about their workday, art and photography. Their shared interest in working
with families and their fondness of photography as an art and hobby led them to this committed partnership.
Over time Alison and Vince realized that they loved to photograph their surroundings but always shot more
photographs of family and friends. Quickly, family and friends were requesting photos of other families
and friends. From this passion to provide quality, affordable photographs was a commitment to reach anyone
who desired to have their ages and stages caught on "film".
Although Alison and Vince's philosophies about photography remain the same, they have tabled their "film"
cameras for digital equipment as their belief is in the power a great picture holds. Digital photography
is extremely flexible and they still remain dedicated to notion that the picture is only a picture once
it has been printed. Alison and Vince strive to get the prints into the hands of those in the frame.

everyone wanting artistic, high-quality printed pictures in their homes.
